DeKalb Hogs Split In Yorkville

The DeKalb hustle Hogs ended a seven game skid on Tuesday night in Yorkville to move their 2006 record to 17-16. The Hogs lost the first game of a DH to the Creative DJ's 8-7 and followed that up with a 10-1 win over the same team. The Hogs are in action next Wednesday in Rockford vs BHAC Pride.
Game 1
The Hogs trailed 8-2 in the fifth before scoring five runs but could not get the tying run in dropping the game 8-7. Brian Tobin took the loss (8-4). Matt Smith was 2x3 with 2R and Sean Cavasos was 2x3 with an RBI. Mike Drew added 2 RBI and 2 hits as well.
Game 2
The Hogs got ahead early scoring nine runs in the second inning cruising to a 10-1 win. Tim Murphy got the win pitching 5 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out 8. Jay Armes was 3x3 with an RBI. Brian Crouch added 2 RBI and Ken Hodgen had 2 hits in the win.
