The Owen Sound Junior Volkswagen Selects fired off six straight victories to capture the Junior Explorer Invitational Men's Fastpitch Tournament in Midland, Michigan this past weekend.
Behind the fantastic pitching of Michael Lagace-Roote (5 wins, 0.70 ERA and 46 K's) the Selects beat the Motor City Shamrocks from Detroit, Michigan in the final. The victory came on a dramatic walk off homerun by Cody Skelton with two out in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Next action for the Selects is at the U21 Junior Men’s Canadian Championships that are being held in Owen Sound from Aug 6-12th.
