Rosedale Park on track for completion mid-September 2012

Great progress has been made on the upgrade taking place at Rosedale Park, the home of the ISF Men's World Softball Championships 2013. Great weather has ensured the facility is on track for completion in mid-September, in plenty of time for Championships next year.
The upgrade which was launched in March 2012, will include a brand new purpose built softball facility with new changing rooms, seating for 500 people (including disabled access seating), media viewing area, broadcast area, functions/VIP lounge, catering facilities, viewing terrace, gallery, equipment storage, meeting rooms and utility rooms.
The facility has recently seen all concrete walls erected and the steel supports installed ready for roofing. Diamond two, which was moved to accommodate the new facility, has had new irrigation and drainage installed and has recently been laid with new turf.
Chairman of the WSC 2013 Fay Freeman says, "It is great to see the new facility taking shape, this will be a great facility for the softball community and the World Championships next year."
Instillation of fencing will begin over the next two weeks, another exciting milestone in this facilities development.
To date funding for a large majority of the project has been secured thanks to the generosity of Auckland Council, ASB Charitable Trust, Lion Foundation and New Zealand Lottery Grants Board.
We will continue to keep you posted on the progress with photos and updates.
