Ontario Challenge Cup Friday NightÂ
Â
Ohsweken, ON - A good crowd turned out in Ohsweken on a cool Friday night for the opening games of the 2012 Laverne Reichert Memorial Ontario Challenge Cup ISC Canada East qualifier. The winner of this event will receive a paid berth in the 2013 ISC World Tournament in Moline, Illinois.
After a rainy day, the games got under way at 7:50 pm. In the openers, the KFL's Diamond Jaxx were too strong for the host Ohsweken Redmen, while Tri-County's Innerkip Eagles nipped Fisherville A's from the Erie league.
In the late games, Sweaburg Crush scored three late runs to take out Walton Brewers from the Huron County league while the Intercounty's Ponsonby Sting got a walkoff home run to edge the KFL's Tri City Jays.
Play resumes Saturday at 9 am with the winner's bracket semi-finals concluding play at 9 pm.
Join the ISC Network on Sunday at 1 pm for the winner's bracket final, followed immediately by the loser's bracket final and then the championship game right after that.. To listen, click on the ISC Network logo at www.iscfastpitch.com.

4 PM UPDATEÂ - FRIDAY
Darrell Anderson of the host committee advises that with the rain we've had today, the 7 pm start times are being pushed to 8 pm.Â
With that said, we will start the scheduled 9 pm games 15 minutes after the conclusion of the first games on each diamond (ie if a game ends at 9:30 pm, we will start at 9:45 pm).
