Miles earns two wins as Durham College sweeps in Windsor



OCAA Women’s Fastball

WINDSOR, Ont. – The Durham College women’s fastball team earned a season sweep over St. Clair College as they picked up two road wins over the Saints on Saturday.



Melissa Semeniuk led the Lords charge in game one as she hit two home runs in a16-0 blowout. Semeniuk finished the game going 3-for-5 at the plate with five RBI’s.



Durham broke the game open in the fourth inning as they scored seven runs capped off by Semeniuk’s three run blast. The Lords would add six more runs in the fifth inning to mercy the Saints.



Samantha Officer also had a three hit game going 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Jessica Pike had a triple and a single.



Kristine Miles was lights out on the mound allowing only three hits while striking out eight St. Clair batters.



In game two, Miles picked up her second win of the day as she pitched a perfect first three innings. Lydia Kalbfleisch took over in the fourth and pitched three shutout innings before allowing three runs in the seventh. Miles has four wins this season.



The Lords bats were hot once again as they registered nine runs. Officer was once again 3-for-4 while her teammates Janna Hagan and Sydney Kozuska each went 2-for-4 with two singles.



Durham scored two runs in the second, three in the third and four in the seventh.



The Lords will look to clinch the OCAA regular season pennant at home on Monday, October 15 as they take on the Seneca Sting. First pitch for the seniors' night doubleheader is at 6 p.m.
