CT in Middleton, WI - Farm Tournament

July 31, 2006

Middleton, WI

July 29-30
Middleton, WI

The Circle Tap Fastpitch team traveled to the Farm Tournament in
Middleton, WI this weekend and came away with a 3-2(21-17 overall) mark.
The Tappers continued their Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde year playing very well
at times and playing embarassing ball at others. Which team will come to
play at the upcoming ASA and ISC's, I'm pretty confident that you will see
the best ball CT has to offer when it comes down to the big ones.

Game 3
8PM Saturday(scheduled)
#10 Circle Tap 7 #15 Albaugh Inc(Elkhart, IA) 5
AI 5 5 1
CT 7 6 1
Even after our hiccup in the morning we could still come away with the 1
seed in our pool should we score 5 more runs than our opponent and keep
them at 2 or under so we had that on our minds. This game was scoreless
until the bottom of the 4th when CT erupted for 6 runs on a couple of
walks an error and base hits by Todd Malnory, Darren Derricks and Kyle
Magnusson. Albaugh made it a 6-1 game in the 6th on a Ben Fjelland HR.
Jess Ellestad would single and score for CT in the bottom half, needing
just 3 outs to clinch the 1 seed and a bye. 1st batter grounded out. A
base hit and walk later followed by a fielder's choice left us an out
away. The 9 hitter then gets hit by a pitch to load the bases with two
out and a ground ball in the hole at 3rd fielded cleanly but had to make a
quick throw to 1st was cleanly caught but 1st baseman had to stretch for
it. My view had him still on the bag as did everyone in the park except
the base umpire who called "appeal" before he made any call, a couple of
runs score home umpire calls safe at 1st. Oh well, life goes on.

Quarter-Final

#10 Circle Tap 4 #1County Materials(Marathon, WI) 7
CM 7 7 0
CT 4 6 0
This was a pitcher's duel until the top of the 6th when the potent County
offense got a break and got it going. Nathan Nukunuku led off the inning
by reaching base on catcher's interference, Donnie Hale was hit by a pitch
and with one out Jarrad Martin hit a bomb out of the yard for a 3-0 lead,
Shawn Rychcik would also homer in the inning for a 4-0 lead before
reliever Dave Miller came on and got the last two outs. CT came right
back in the bottom half as Darren Derricks was hit by a pitch, Jess
Ellestad singled and Kyle Magnusson then hit a 3 run shot to close the gap
to 4-3. Chris Delarwelle walked followed by a Don Garvey double put
runners on 2nd and 3rd. County went to the bull pen and Andrew

later hit a 2 run shot for the final margin.
