Long Term Player Development

At its recent Annual General Meeting, Softball Canada passed new standardized Minor Softball Rules for the U6, U8, U10 and U12 age groups.

Back in 2010, Softball Ontario requested copies of Minor Softball Association rules from Softball Associations across Ontario, and over 50 Softball Associations provided us with copies of their rules. These rules, along with the principles of Long Term Player Development, are what were used to develop the new Minor Softball Rules for U12 and younger.

Softball Canada will be including the new rules in its 2013-2014 Official Rule Book, and it is hoped that they will be adopted by Softball Associations in Ontario as a way to ensure the best pathway through player development.

Download a copy of the Minor Softball Rules Summary passed at the 2012 Softball Canada Annual General Meeting and start preparing to implement them into your Softball Association!
