Prince George - 99.3 The Drive and the 2006 Senior Men's Canadian Fast
Pitch Championship Host Committee are pleased to announce a deal to
broadcast three championship games live, on the radio. The announcement
also marks the first time that Softball Canada will have the games
broadcast live across Canada, via the internet on the Drive website.

"We're excited to be connected with the tournament and know the people of
Prince George and the Central Interior, will be thrilled to listen to
these games which feature the elite Fast Pitch players from across
Canada," said Ron Pollilo, Program Director for 99.3 The Drive.

"We know these games will be extremely competitive, and will provide great
listening entertainment for the people of our community. An added feature
we're proud of is that these games will be accessible to the fans and
family members of the competing teams from across Canada via our website
at 993thedrive.com".

Veteran broadcaster Allan Bristowe will call the games. Allan is well
known to sports fans, as the anchor at PGTV for the past 5 years. Allan
is also a former Fast Pitch player himself, and has been involved in many
other fastball championships, starting as the bat boy for the host team at
the 1985 National Midget Boys Fastball championship in Prince Albert,
Saskatchewan. Allan went on to be the public address announcer and color
commentator at the 1996 National Midget Boys Fastball championship, again
in Prince Albert. In the 2001 National Midget Boys fastball championship,
Allan graduated to be the play by play announcer, guess where, again in
Prince Albert.

"Calling fastball at its highest level will be exciting. I can remember in
1985 watching a young Dean Holein run the show for the Melfort 222's, and
watching the 1996 Prince Albert Selects win their second straight Canadian
title. In 2001 the final again featured the host team against Waterford,
Ontario. Between both of these teams, there were 9 players on the Canadian
junior men’s team. Now I get to call the games with the best players in
Canada!"

99.3 The Drive will broadcast two Round Robin games which will feature the
host Prince George Black Bears. These games include the Black Bears
competing against the Vancouver Grey Sox on Monday August 28th at 8:00 pm,
and then again against the defending champions from St Thomas Ontario on
Wednesday August 30th, again at 8:00 pm. Pre-game and post-game shows
will be a part of the broadcast. 99.3 The Drive will also be broadcasting
the event Final Championship game at 1:30 pm on Sunday September 3rd.

"This will help to make this Championship memorable," said Host Committee
Chairperson Allen Cummings. "It turns up the prestige of our event, and
enables those that may not be able to be at the park, to be able to follow
the games, which are going to pit Canada's finest against one another for
the honour of being the National Champions".

The 2006 Senior Men's Canadian Fast Pitch Championship is scheduled for
August 27th to September 3rd, in Prince George at Spruce City Stadium. It
is featuring the finest 8 Fast Pitch teams from across Canada, including
the host Prince George Black Bears.
