Become a Dartfish Specialist with Softball Ontario!

Toronto, ON- Softball Ontario announces the call for applications for two (2) Dartfish Specialists. Softball Ontario would like to bring the game of softball to the next level with the use of video analysis. Video analysis is a procedure in which a videotaped softball skill is analyzed using a frame-by-frame inspection of footage. Dartfish is the world’s best software program which assists in the analysis by allowing a Dartfish Specialist to:
• Highlight key points of interest by selecting and noting key moments within the skill • Add audio comments, text and drawing to selected key positions • Play reference video with key positions and notations to compare with other videos • Synchronize two different videos to play together • Publish videos, key positions, drawings and annotations and voice over
A Darfish Specialist will be able to take a video clip of a Pitcher, Hitter or Fielder (or a softball player doing any softball skill) and analyze it and be able to return the clip to the player with detailed analysis format called a Media Book.

Dartfish Software is a tremendous tool for any Softball Coach wanting the help themselves and their players learn through the use of video technology. This program allows an easy transfer of footage from the video camera to a personal computer. Dartfish allows a Coach to play a clip of a skill in regular speed, any number of slow motion speeds and it can advance a clip by clip frame. Softball Ontario Dartfish Specialist qualifications included:
• Strong communication and administrative skills • A keen interest in Athlete/Coach Development • An understanding of the NCCP Coaching Program specifically in Softball • Strong Leadership Skills • Coaching Experience is an asset • Has teaching and facilitation experience E-learning environment is considered an asset • Has a post-secondary education degree is considered an asset • Have the ability to offer recommendations for improvement • Have the ability to demonstrate and an understanding of and competence in the use of technology • To provide skill analyses of an athlete • Must sign Softball Ontario’s Confidentiality Agreement • Must complete Softball Ontario Volunteer Application

Responsibilities of a Softball Ontario Dartfish Specialist:

• To video tape softball athletes • To provide a skill analysis of softball athletes • To attend Dartfish Training • To promote the Softball Ontario Dartfish Program • Committed to provide Dartfish services to local softball association across Ontario • Committed to provide Dartfish services to Softball Ontario Member Association’s Talent Identification Camps • To provide a report or to appear at all Softball Ontario Coaching Meeting when required • Receive and review all materials/minutes distributed by Softball Ontario • Do tasks as assigned by the Coaching Committee and/or Chairperson • Adhere to all Softball Ontario and Coaching Policies and Protocol

Please note that Dartfish Special Training is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013 and if you are appointed as a Dartfish Specialist, you are required to be at this training. Softball Ontario is looking forward to a bring softball on the cutting edge but we need your help to make it a success!
