Softball Ontario seeks a Softball Association to host to pilot USB Key-Competition-Introduction, Softball Clinic
Toronto, ON- Softball Ontario Coaches Committee is seeking a softball association to host a Competition-Introduction, Softball clinic where all the participants would need a bring a laptop with them as the clinic materials would be supplied to each participant on an USB key rather than in a hard copy form.  The Clinic host would have to ensure the venue has a classroom/computer lab that would allow for clinic participant to plug their laptops so that they can participate in the clinic.
What is “Competition-Introduction Softball?”Competition-Introduction, softball is the first Coaches clinic that is available in the National Coaching Certification stream.  In the Competitive stream, Coaches usually have previous coaching experience or a former athlete in the sport.  Coaches in this category tend to work with athletes over a long term to improve performance, often in preparation for provincial, national or international competitions.  There are 4 components to Competition-Introduction, Softball which includes:
  • What to Coach (16 hours)
  • How to Coach (16 hours)
  • Make Ethical Decisions On Line Evaluation (3 hours)
  • On Field Evaluation (2 hours)
The On Field Evaluation component (OFE clinic) is the final step in becoming “certified” in Competition-Introduction.
