Hurler ready to face world

Black Sox open title bid with easy win

5:15pm EST 1 March - first game of the day

now 20 minutes into the first game of the day Australia and Indonesia and no live stream feed as yet.

The iscore page shows them in 2nd inning with Australia leading 3-0 but no action yet on the live stream page at all and so far no one is responding to inquiries.

5:25pm still no live feed but try OZ feed:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/aussiespirit

Not as good as the streaming yesterday but may be all that is available for this game with Australia vs Indonesia until the PPV gets its act together.

6:20pm EST and still no streaming!  Australia won their game, got results thanks to Twitter.

Have written 2 people at DaCast and 3 @NZsoftball but all appear to have broken fingers.

7:05pm and still no response from anyone!

Kyle managed to get signed on so there is hope.

8:00pm and finally got signed on but had to pay twice in the same day! Horrible system to deal with and even worse communications with DaCast and with @NZsoftball, appears they all have broken fingers today.

So they have moved their single camera to behind home plate area which gives a better view of the action and occasionally they show the crowd in the grandstand. So far, the sound quality has NOT improved, too much echo. The announcer appears to be speaking into the PA system so sound coming through the streaming is dreadful.

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8:30pm and they are prepping the diamond for NZ Black Sox vs Columbia.

Some music between games but no colour commentary. Would have been super to have had Kyle Smith of Ball Park Radio fame here to do the play by play and his mates Joe and Blair et al for the colour commentary. Getting bored with the dead air.

8:37pm and the blue are at the plate waiting for the managers.

Last night I wrote to Bob Stanton, the UIC of the Blue Crew and asked him for a daily Umpire Schedule but Bob may not have his trusty lap top hooked up yet.  In 2009 in Saskatoon Bob gave us a daily schedule for the Blue that was the most professional we have ever seen. If anyone reads this and is at the park or talking to Bob, please pass along my request to him.

8:41pm and introduction of Columbia, in Spanish! Super! That's what the ISF's are all about! And, the announcer introducing the team in Spanish is loud and clear!

Then introductions of the Black Sox and this guy too is loud and clear!
They did the haka last night for Mexico, its on Facebook, and hope they do it again tonight.

Two Canadian Blue working this game!

8:45 haka - well done!

8:51pm PLAY BALL!  And, announcer is loud and clear, maybe best yet for clarity.

9:07pm and happy to say Excellent sound quality from the announcer on this game, its loud and clear. Very little commentary but way better than earlier.

And a Miracle, DeCast issued us a credit for the foul up on gaining access to the streaming tonight. We had to pay twice to get on but after 4 hours we got an email saying the problem fixed and the credit.

Release from the online streaming team:
A miscommunication with www.domcast.com has had every Day1  expire, but we will re-issue everybody who purchased Day 1, to another 3 days to access Video on Demand, Plus an option to purchase Day 2 VOD at a 50% discount. This will be organised with dacast once they're in office hour (5-6 hours time) Thanks

Good game to watch. Picture was ok and the sound was good.

Announcer is loud and clear. The second guy is Mr Mumbles.

12:25am now Saturday morning and Canada wins their game 9-0 over Philippines.

Coverage of this game was loud and clear.

Music pretty good too!

Spoke to one of the score keepers tonight who is running the iScore, and told them they are doing a Super job.

 12:40am Sat morning:

Coming up Argentina vs Japan and Kyle Smith @PlayByPlay21 on Twitter covering  this big game at 1:30am EST relay on https://mobile.twitter.com/AlsFastball/

1:00am Saturday morning - Kyle is going to hang in there but looks like they are not going to start early so I am calling it a night.

Thanks everyone for following tonight.

STREAMING ANNOUNCEMENT

Hi
To update you re DAY 1 of ISF Men's World Softball, some people had communication that their package had expired and that is not the case from the event point of view as we wanted people to have a few days to access all games.  Dacast is not in business hours at the moment and when we can be in communication with them, we will have them reissue everybody with a DAY 1 package with another 3 days to access VODs.  We're also happy to offer a 50% discount PROMO CODE for Day 2 if you wish to access that too.

VOD games on Diamond II are recorded, edited, encoded and then uploaded so it takes a while.  We're going to abandon doing that from the Park as it is a very slow connection and will have to do it overnight!   Bare with us as we reconfigure the workflow.
Thanks
