Passing of a Legend in Austin Fastpitch - Big John Limon Sr.

April 18, 2013

San Antonio, TX

An Austin legend of mens fast pitch softball, my father Big John Limon Sr. was called to heaven this morning. Dad was a fighter to the end. Twenty years ago he suffered a massive stroke that most would have not survived, and he did. Sixteen years ago, he had a kidney transplant and a whole new outlook on life. Dad was a double amputee and yet still lived more life than most did with two legs. Recently his heart kept getting weaker and weaker, and this morning it just stopped beating. Please pray for his soul and for all of his loved ones. He will be missed by all.

My father Big John Limon passed away yesterday at the age of 73. My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their condolences and their prayers, It truly has touched all of our hearts. We will have a viewing on Sunday April 21st at Mission Funeral Home on Cesar Chavez Street from 1:00 - 5:00 and on Monday 10:00 - 6:00. The rosary will be Monday evening at 7:00 at Cristo Ray Catholic Church on Robert Martinez Dr. Mass at 10:00 am at Cristo Ray Catholic Church Tuesday morning with the burial to follow at assumption cemetery on IH 35 South. Once again a huge Thank You for all your love and support.
