LEGENDS OF FASTBALL - June 21 22 23 - Peter Hallman and Budd Park - Kitchener

Legends of Fastball Classic, Deputy UIC Tim Whitelaw reports that this year we will have umpires from 5 provinces at the Legends.

" Probably one of the best crews assembled for a Men's tournament in quite a while." says Umpire Whitelaw of this great blue crew.

"All umpire's have been selected to work either the Canadian Senior Men's Championship in August or at an International assignment, or the World ISC Tournament in Quad Cities Iowa."

From Ontario 8 great umpires including Peter Kluzcinsky, Provincial Umpire in Chief, is working a European Womens Tournamentin Prague, CZ later this year on behalf of Softball Canada.

Trevor Topping of Kitchener a qualified ISC Umpire, has worked the Legends numerous times, and has been selected as an alternate umpire for the Senior Men's Canadian Championship later this year in Stratford.

Rick Boyd, Elmira, has been selected to work his first World ISC Tournament this August in Quad Cities Iowa!

Other Ontario umps, Chris Lamer and Mike Morrisey both qualified, experienced Legends returnees, and both will be working The Quad Cities, ISC World Championships as well!

Ed Otterman from Brantford has been selected as the ISC Designated umpire to the ASA National Championships Tournament. Jay Hart from Dunville will be working Quad Cities this year.

Tim Whitelaw, an Ontario Level 5 Umpire has been selected to work the Canadian Senior Men's National Championship in Stratford. Tim is also the Deputy Umpire in Chief for the Midget Boys Canadian Championship in Drummondville PQ this August.

From Manitoba, Trevor Stoyko, an experienced umpire will be working the Senior Men's Nationals in Stratford this August.

John Sullivan, from Newfoundland returns to Kitchener's Legends of Fastball at Peter Hallman Ball Yard. John will be also be officiating at the Senior Men's Canadian championships as well.

Lou Davis, of Turo Nova Scotia has regularly worked the Legends, as well as most of the recent ISC World Tournaments. Lou was the UIC for the 2013 AAU Tournament in Florida this past January. Lou is the D-UIC for the ISC World Tournament in Quad Cities this year and has been selected to represent Canada in China this summer at their Senior Ladies tournament!

Lou is ranked as one of the premier umpires in Canada.

Also from Nova Scotia, Derron Gerrior, has also been selected to work the Senior Men's Canadians this August in Stratford.

Rounding out the field is Mathieu Leclerc from Quebec. A bright up-and-coming umpire who has also been selected to represent his province at the Senior Men's Nationals in Stratford

The Legends of Fastball Classic and the ISC U21 (under 21) Eastern Canadian Fastpitch Qualifier will be played at Peter Hallman Ball Yard in Kitchener, June 21 22 and 23..

This is an all star crew of umpires who will be working between the lines at one of the most exciting fastball tournaments on the calendar!

The best teams competing, and the best umpires working!!!

ISC QUALIFIER - Tavistock - June 14 15 and 16

The teams are set for Tavistock this weekend and the qualifier for Quad Cities this August.

Opening round games...Friday nite Kitchener Outlaws vs Tavistock Merchants..good to have a home team in the opening game...that game is set for 7pm. Hickson Reds and Burgessville Bulls also at 7..

At 9pm Oshawa Rebels and Wyevale Tribe, and Alvinston Indians and the Milverton Chiefs..

Saturday morning...8am..Shakespeare Falcons, open up against the winner of the Tavistock/ Outlaws game.and also at 8am..Elmira Expos vs either Milverton or Alvinston...

Scarborough Force play either the Reds or the Bulls...at 10 am and the winner of the Oshawa vs Wyevale will meet Lake Simcoe also at 10 am

Looks like a good one...some great teams that are looking for a spot in the ISC World Tournament in Iowa later this summer.

Games continue all day Saturday and continue on Sunday,...

Tavistock is a great place for a ball tournament...really great diamonds, and the brand new pavilion is all ready to go with good food and cold beer...

Get there Friday nite and stay for the weekend..

Did you take a look at the class of 2013 Legends this year...as posted on Al's Fastball

3 from the Waterloo Chym's/Twins and 2 from Owen Sound...sounds about right...

Marty Myska, Mike Pederson, Paul Clemons, Chymr's and Twins...and the two greats from Owen Sound...Bill Simpson and Brad Underwood..

"Clemmer" is still a vacumn at short in the KFL

Should be a great day at Peter Hallman Ball Yard when those 5 get introduced to the crowd..

LEGENDS MIDGET GAME

Bruce Young has arranged a Midget (I think that is under 18) ball game for the Legends tournament..

Players were selected from the "Midget" league in the North Waterloo Rural Softball League
and drafted to two teams, the CHYMr's and the TWINS...that game will be played at 6pm on Saturday at the Legends
