Team Canada Ready for Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship

 

(Oklahoma City, OK) The Canadian Senior Women’s National Team is ready to compete at the 2013 Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship in Surrey, BC this week. The team arrived on Monday following the completion of the General Tire World Cup of Softball VIII held in Oklahoma City, where Canada finished in a three-way tie for first place with Japan in the United States in the preliminary round, but lost 4-3 in eight innings to Australia on the Bronze medal game to finish fourth.

Australia, Canada, Japan, the United States, Venezuela and the California A’s club team will compete in the Women’s International division of the event, with all six teams advancing to the playoff round.

The athletes who will represent Team Canada at the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship from July16-22 in Surrey, BC are:
