Inaugural Kernaghan Cup Goes This Weekend!
The Inaugural Kernaghan Cup is set and ready to go for the upcoming weekend. Scheduled to take place are 8 mens and 8 womens teams. The winning teams will have their names engraved on their respective "Kernaghan Cup". This is the start of a new tradition that the tournament organizers feel will be held in high esteem! The tournament organizers are looking forward to a great weekend of fastball and competition.. The participating teams are:

Competition begins Friday night at 6:30 with Oshawa Double B’s taking on Campbellford, Dundonald Diamond Backs vs Ryan Oliver Excavating and the Grafton Women taking on Lasher Masonry. Two more games are scheduled to go at 8:15 with Rutherflo hosting Curve Lake and FDC Belleville facing off against Curve Lake Gimaakwewag.
Saturday sees the competition as follows:
8:00am – Dundonald Diamond Backs vs Beatty Seeds Picton, Curve Lake vs Whitby Boston Pizza, and Oshawa Ravens facing Ryan Oliver Excavating
10:00am – Oshawa Double B’s vs Rutherflo, Mississauga Diamonds vs Curve Lake Gimaakwewag, FDC Belleville vs Pickering Lions, Curve Lake vs Campbellford
12:00pm – Dundonald Diamond Backs vs Oshawa Ravens, Grafton vs Whitby Boston Pizza, Lasher Masonry vs Curve Lake, Beatty Seeds Picton vs Ryan Oliver Excavating
2:00pm – Campbellford vs Rutherflo, FDC Belleville vs Mississauga Diamonds, Curve Lake Gimaakwewag vs Pickering Lions
4:00pm – Beatty Seeds Picton vs Oshawa Ravens, Grafton vs Curve Lake, Whitby Boston Pizza vs Lasher Masonry
6:00pm – Oshawa Double B’s vs Curve Lake, Pickering Lions vs Mississauga Diamonds
Sunday sees all the championship games with the "D" Championship at 9am, "C" Championship at 11am, "B" Championship at 1pm, and the "A" Championship at 3pm.
Gate fees are applicable this weekend with a weekend pass available for $5.00. Full programs will be available on entry with team rosters included, schedule, and results boards. All proceeds from the tournament are being put back into the community through Grafton Minor Hockey, Grafton Minor Ball, and other community projects.
