Just received a voice mail from Bill Hillhouse saying Rudy Thoman died
either yesterday or today.  Diabetes related.

 He was an ISC Commissioner from 1994 to about 2003.

Lyman "Rudy" Thoman

71, Shelbyville, passed away August 12, 2013 in Columbus, IN. Rudy was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia (Bausback) Thoman; parents, Dalton and Gertrude (Runnebohm) Thoman; and brothers, Dalton Matthew Thoman, DDS and Reginauld Thoman. He is survived by three sons, Gregory (Linda) Thoman of Frisco, TX, Eric (Dee) Thoman of Shelbyville, and Brent (Amanda) Thoman of Shelbyville; daughter, Lynn (Steve) Herendeen of Elkhart, IN; three brothers, Dr. Rex Thoman of Indianapolis, Ray Chauncey Thoman of Carmel, and Adrian Thoman of North, SC; sister, Trudy Roser of Carlisle, KY; and eight grandchildren.

Rudy graduated from Waldron High School and attended Indiana Univeristy. He worked for 49 years as a Financial Advisor and Insurance Salesman before retiring in 2008. He served as President of Business Professional Financial Services.

Rudy loved playing and coaching fast pitch softball. He also enjoyed having coffee with friends at McDonald's every morning. He was a member of #822 Knights of Columbus (Past Grand Knight); International Softball Congress, North American Fast Pitch Association; National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors; and was a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #766. He was inducted into the Indiana ASA Softball Hall of Fame, and was Manager of the Shelbyville Sting Fast Pitch Softball team for 14 years. Rudy was also a member of St. Joseph Parish.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, August 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shelbyville. Visitation will be Thursday, August 15 from 2-8 p.m. at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home , Shelbyville. Burial will be at St. Vincent Catholic Church. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Knights of Columbus c/o FH. Rosary will be recited at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday before visitation.
