Fall Ball

The Lower Mainland Fastball League is looking to organize a brief fall league to take advantage of the great late summer weather we got and to further promote the game. The league will be a developmental one, aimed at introducing new players and pitchers. Stay tuned to theinsidecurve.com for details. ISC World Tournament: Quad Cities, Illinois

Recently, the ISC World Tournament was held from August 10-17 Moline, Illinois. For those unfamiliar, the ISC tournament (International Softball Congress) is the top North American club team championship featuring teams from around North American (and some from South America) and top players from around the world including elite Australians, New Zealanders and Argentinians.
The Sooke Loggers and the Invermere Randy's A's represented BC while BC players competed on the California A's, New York Gremlins, and Houston Carnage (sorry if I missed others).

GREAT NEWS: Thanks to a sponsorship, the live streaming radio and video was FREE this year and all games are archived so check out some of the top tier action! The final was one for the ages, a 1-0 thriller won by the Hill United Chiefs (Ontario) over the NY Gremlins. CLICK HERE for the video link.

Giants take Challenge

The South Hill Giants took the Bob Law Memorial Challenge (the top men's tournament on the West Coast in recent years) over the July 19-21 weekend. The Giants, bolstered by the pitching of imports Andy Skelton (Team Canada - Ontario) and Trevor Ethier (Saskatoon Diamondbacks), cruised through going undefeated.

Jason Wright lived up to his nickname "Horse" by going 5-0 in the circle at the recent C/D provincials at Softball City, winning the gold medal with the Rossini's of Vancouver. Recap...

Seattle Invite

Jason Wright continued his North American tour (8 weekends in a row) with a tournament win at the recent 53rd Annual Seattle Invitational tournament.
