Well another season wraps up in Niagara Falls. Number 1 seed Niagara Snappers face Number 2 seed Niagara Fury in a winner takes all one game showdown and the game would go to extras where the Snappers pull out a 5-4 win. Here are the details.
T2 Fury get on board with two out Tommy Watkinson doubles and is cashed by a Rob Greatrix double and the Fury jump out to a 1-0 lead but the Snapper respond in B3 when Dave Neal leads off with a double and eventually scores on a Trevor Falk HR to centre. The Snappers would add another in the inning when the Fury just miss out on a double play to get out of the inning, Mike Bateman hustling down the line beats the throw and that would prove costly for the Fury as he eventually scores on a Ryan Rothwell base hit and the Snappers lead 3-1. Matty Lyons would add to the lead in B5 with a solo Hr and the Snappers lead 4-1. The Fury have a big sixth when Adam Dearborn leads off with a double followed by a Scott Wagar walk and a Mark Korten single. Tommy Watkinson hits his second double of the game and cashes all three runners and ties the game at 4. Game ends up in extra innings and in B8 the always dangerous Falk leads off with a double and after moving to third on a groundout Ryan Rothwell with a perfectly executed squeeze bunt would score Falk for the championship run. Another great game in a long line of them between these two teams.
