LORDS WEEKLY REPORT: Black named Durham College student-athlete of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Women’s fastball freshman Ashley Black (Waterloo, Ont.) has been named the Durham College student-athlete of the week presented by Boston Pizza – North Oshawa for the period ending Oct. 13.
Black, a first year Police Foundations major, earned the win on the mound in the Lords playoff clinching victory over the Humber Hawks. Black pitched the complete game allowing five runs, all unearned while recording four strikeouts. Black also had a strong showing at the plate going 3-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.
Two nights prior, Black pitched another complete game in a 2-1 victory over the Seneca Sting. She allowed only one run off of six hits while striking out three batters. Following a 30-minute delay in the bottom of the seventh inning, Black retired the final two batters with two runners on base.
