ASA/USA Softball names athletes to the 2014 USA Softball Men’s Fast Pitch National Team

ASA/USA Softball names athletes to the 2014 USA Softball Men’s Fast Pitch National Team

 

OKLAHOMA CITY — Ten athletes have been named to the 2014 USA Softball Men’s Fast Pitch National Team, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball announced today. An additional seven athletes plus alternates will be named to the squad in August following the conclusion of the National Team Selection Camp in early August. The USA Men's Fast Pitch National Team will compete at the IX Pan American Games/International Softball Federation (ISF) World Championship qualifier event in Parana, Argentina, October 19 – November 3.

All 10 athletes named to the roster competed with the USA Softball Men’s Fast Pitch National Team at an international event in Altamonte Springs, Fla. in January. The remaining seven athletes plus alternates will be named to the roster on August 8, following the ASA/USA Softball Men’s National Team selection camp which will be held in South Bend, Ind. following the ASA Men’s Major National Championship July 31 – August 3. Invitations to the selection camp will be issued in early July.

 

In addition to the IX Pan American Games qualifier, the 2014 USA Softball Men’s Fast Pitch National Team will compete in a Labor Day tournament in Elkland, Pa. August 29 – September 1 as well as attend a training event September 26 – 28 in preparation for Octobers qualifying tournament.
