2014 OASA Masters "A" &"B" Championship

The 2014 OASA Masters “A” & “B” Provincial Championship will be held July 18-20 at Cambridge Sports Park in Cambridge Ontario.
This tournament has a rich history and will once again be known as the “Jack Cook Classic.”
This tournament will crown Ontario Champions in the 2 divisions, Gold and Silver medals will be awarded in both “A” & “B” divisions.
 
New Rules for 2014
 
All players must be a minimum of 40 years old, they can be 39 as long as they turn 40 anytime during the calendar year.
All teams will be allowed to use 3 underage players, the underage players must be 36-39 years old, a player can be 35 as long as they are turning 36 during this calendar year. Underage players can not pitch. All players must be residents of Ontario, no players from outside Ontario will be allowed. All teams will be allowed to use a Designated Runner ( DR )
The “DR” will be identified on the line-up card and may enter the game to bat or play defense thus eliminating the ”DR” for the remainder of the game. The “DR” may run for anyone but may only be used for one (1) player each inning.
 
Mike Goodridge of Hamilton will once again be the Tournament Director, Last year was Mike’s first year as Tournament Director and he did
an outstanding job along with Host Committee members, Rod Fevreau and Brian Hood. Mike was very pleased to see last years tournament grow to 8 teams and is expecting even more at this summer’s tournament. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Mike.

Of special note........
 
Two berths to the newly created Canadian Masters Championship will be up for grabs at this year’s OASA Masters Championship.
Softball Canada has added a special Masters Division to help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Sr. Men’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship. The dates for the Canadian Masters Championship are Aug. 28-31 in Charlottetown, PEI.
