Come Join Us!
Volunteer with the Toronto 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Games, the largest multi-sport Games ever hosted in Canada, with a footprint stretching across the Greater Golden Horseshoe – from Welland to Oshawa to Minden Hills.
Don Bracey, the volunteer Softball Sport Organizing Committee (SOC) Chair with Toronto 2015, is looking to identify some specialized field of play volunteers for the softball training and competition schedule to be held at the President’s Choice Ajax Pan Am Ballpark.  He would like to hear from you if you want to be involved.
Following is some information on what it means to volunteer for the 2015 Games and how to express an interest in softball.

Expectations of a Volunteer

Time Commitment
To ensure a great experience for the athletes, spectators and officials, volunteering with TO2015 requires a significant commitment. This means being available to support the event between the dates of July 10th to 26th, 2015 and/or August 7th to 14th, 2015. In general this will mean 12 shifts over 18 days for the Pan Am Games and/or 6 shifts over 8 days for the Para pan Games.
The softball athletes from across the Americas and Caribbean will be training and competing in The Pan Am Games between the dates of July 7th to July 26th, 2015.

Language Requirements
All volunteers are required to have basic working knowledge of English. To support the athletes and visitors, we are also looking for volunteers who speak French, Spanish or Portuguese and other selected languages.

Age Requirements
The volunteer program is open to individuals 16 years or older. Volunteers under 18 years old will require the permission of their parent or guardian to participate.

Training
Volunteers will be expected to attend up to 4 training sessions to ensure the entire team is on the same page and we are looking to the same goal of delivering and incredible event.
We in softball will ask you to attend additional training as required, for example Field of Play Maintenance and Scorekeeping, to hone your skills.

What Can A Volunteer Expect?
Volunteering at the Games will be once in a lifetime experience. It is an opportunity to showcase the Greater Golden Horseshoe, develop meaningful friendships with fellow volunteers, gain valuable skills and experience and have FUN!

Volunteers will receive:

    Comprehensive training program
    Opportunity for a volunteer certificate
Official Pan Am / Parapan Am Games uniform
Refreshments and meals based on shift duration
Volunteers with accreditation will have access to public transit
