Â
April 2nd 2014,
Kitchener Ontario, Host City of the 2014 ISC World Tournament.
Peter Hallman Memorial Fastpitch Tournament - June 20 21 22.
Summer may seem like a long way off, I drove by Peter Hallman Ball
Yard today and there is still some ice covering the
infields ....but that doesn't mean that fastball
has been forgotten here in the land of the 2014 ISCs.
Alan Taylor has been putting together a great field for the inaugaural
Peter Hallman Memorial Fastpitch Tournament set for the June 20 21
and 22nd weekend at the Ball Yard here in Kitchener.
Twelve teams will compete for the honour of being the first winner of
the Peter Hallman Memorial Tournament trophy. Al advises that he has
applications and has awarded berths to the following twelve teams...
-From Kitchener, the Hallman Twins, the Diamond Jaxx, KFL champs for
2013, the Bell Cartage Outlaws, and the Hallman Cubs.
-From the South Perth League we will see Wellington Sox, the Laverne
Reichert Trophy winner last fall in Palmerston, and the Shakespeare
Falcons.
-Two teams from Scarboro; the Force and the Batmen.
-From New York, CPI/Heflin Builders make the short drive to Peter Hallman
Ball Yard from the Empire State.
-ISC II finalists in Quad Cities, the Wiarton Nationals, will be a strong
entry from the Blue Water League
-and from nearby Woodstock, the Sweaburg Crush.
-Eastern Ontario will be represented by the Napanee Express.
Al can be reached at alan.taylor@rogers.com if you need any further
details or
if you wish you had entered this event and want to get on the list for
next year.
Tim Whitelaw will be looking after the Blue Crew at the Ball Yard. Tim
always has a great crew at any ball tournament he is involved with.
Like the teams, the umpires will be using this as a warm up for the
ISCs later this summer at Peter Hallman Ball Yard.
Economical accomadations for teams and fans have been arranged
thru Martha Wallace at Conestoga Residences...Martha can be
reached at mwallace@stayrcc.com or 519 895 2272, x 713.
You will enjoy your stay..lots of ball teams agree...and only ten
minutes to the
Ball Yard. Make sure you mention that you are in town for the ball
tournament.
Book now, this city has a lot going on this summer.
Bernie Bernett is drawing up a 12 team schedule, with a three game guarantee
....Bernie has the tournament opening on Friday evening with a full slate
of games
at Peter Hallman Ball Yard and continuing all day Saturday...
finishing up Sunday
afternoon.
This one will kick off a great summer of fastball here in
Kitchener....and it will be a
good one...these teams are coming to compete at the host site of
the 2014 ISCs,
Five of them have already qualified for the ISCs...two more will be
added to the ISC qualifiers from this
tournament for the ISCs here in Kitchener this August.
.... See you at the ball yard...
