                MATT BEHM OF THE HOUNDS PITCHES A 3 HIT SHUT OUT FOR THE HOUNDS
 
                                                                 In the opener at Lorne Brady Memorial Park in Garson on Thursday night , the North Stars remained undefeated with a 12-2 drubbing of the Panthers 12-2 . The North Stars , in first place with a 4 and 0 record have only given up 5 runs this season . Lanny Fichett (1-0) went the distance ( game called on the mercy rule after six frames)  for the winners  giving up 2 runs (both earned) , five hits  and striking out five batters . Gary Lamothe now 2-2 , pitched the first 5 innings giving up  10 runs (3 unearned) , 8 hits and fanning  only one batter with Dan Matheson relieving him in the 6th frame . Jesse St Cyr led the way for the North Stars going 3 for 4 ( two runs , one RBI and one stolen base)  while Gary Lamothe hit 2 for 2 ( one stolen base) and  Brad Matheson hit a solo home run in a losing cause for the Panthers ..
                                                                    In the nightcap under the lights , the Garson Hounds gave the Dog House their fifth strait loss of the season  with an 11-0 victory , The game was called after the fifth inning due to the 10 run mercy rule . Matt Behm (1-0)  went the distance for the Hounds not giving up any runs , only 3 hits  and 2 strike outs . Brian Kutschke 0-2) started for the Dog House  giving up 9 runs( one unearned)  , 7 hits  and 5 base on balls before being relieved in the second by Mike Greslow ( moving over to the Dog House after being released by the Hounds) . Catcher Todd Parsons led the way for the Hounds going a perfect 3 for at the dish (double , 2 runs and 5 RBI’s ) with teammate Eric Legendre chipping in with a 2 for 2 performance ( run , RBI ) ..
                                                                     League play resumes on a very special night Monday June 9th in Azilda at the Rick McDonald Memorial Sports Complex . At 7 pm  , the Panthers take on the Dog House .Following the first game it will be a special ceremony honoring our longest and beloved fastball fan Lucien “Papalu “  Dignard who passed away November the 7th at the young age of 86 . The four teams will be paraded onto  the field by the Lockerby Legion color guard under the direction of Chris Peters . Then a few players as well as our Commissioner Brian Welsh . Then the two sons Mitch and Marc will spread the ashes of their dad as per one of his last wishes . During this time  Amazing Grace will be sung . The teams will then be paraded off the field by the Legion .
                                                                        In the night under the lights , two long time arch rivals , the Garson Hounds and Sudbury North Stars face each other ‘
