QUENTIN SEELEY REMAX FASTBALL LEAGUE
 
        THE GARSON HOUNDS SCORE 30 RUNS TO MOVE INTO SECOND PLACE
 
                                        Thursday night in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park , the Hounds had quite an evening .Their bats were alive for both games of a doubleheader .
                                         In the opener at 7 pm , they hooked up with Dog House . Before the game was only two innings ,the Hounds had scored 9 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks . That was it for starter Brian Kutchke ( 0-4 ) and Mike Greskow ( 1-4 ) took over giving up 10 runs himself  on ten hits  and issuing 1 walk . Suddenly in the middle frames ( 5th and 6th ) , the Dog House seemed to be mounting a comeback when they scored 8 runs to move within 3 of the Hounds 11-8 ) . That was short lived as the Hounds scored another  8 themselves for a 19-9 victory which was called in the 6th run because of the 10 run mercy rule . John Ainslie ( 2-1 ) started for Garson and lasted   five innings after giving  9 runs on  9 hits ( 9 in a row ) .  Ed Brennan ( 1st relief of the season ) took over in the 6th giving up 1 single run on 3 hits ..  League leading top hitter , Todd Parsons ( 2 runs , 3 run homer , 5 rbi’s ) led the hitting onslaught for the Hounds with teammates  Ed Brennan ( 2 runs , 2 rbi’s ) chipping in with a 3 for 4 performance and Alex Julien ( 2 runs , triple , 3 rbi’s ) , Sylvain Ouellette ( 2 runs , dbl, 2 rbi’s ) and TeeJay Wabegijig (2 runs , 2 rbi’s ) all hitting 2 for 3 . J P Miron ( 2 runs , dbl , 1 rbi ) , Brady Loach ( run , rbi ) ,Dan Quesnel ( run ) and Matt McCormick ( run , 2 rbi’s ) all hit 2 for 3 in a losing cause .
                                             In the nightcap at 9 pm , the Hounds bats were still hot as they  out hit the Panthers 9-7 and a  11-6 victory . John Ainslie now  3-1 , started once more but had a much better outing . He gave up 6 runs ( all earned ) on 7 hits while fanning  9 batters and not issuing a single walk . Brad Matheson ( 1-1 )started for the Panthers and lasted only 3 innings before being relieved in the 4th frame by Gary Lamothe (4-3 ) .They combined to give up  11 runs ( 3 unearned ) on 9 hits striking out 6 batters ( 3 each ) and issuing 2 walks ..Matheson the starter took the loss . The hitting parade continued for Garson with Ed Roy ( 2 runs , dbl , solo HR  , 2 rbi’s ) and TeeJay Wabegijig ( 2 runs , trpl , solo HR ) both hitting 2 for 2 with teammates Bryan Welsh ( run ), Matt Behm ( 2 runs ) and Ally Gilles ( run ) all contributed with a 1 for 2 performance . Brad Matheson ( 2 runs , trpl ) , Calvin Kimewon ( 2 runs , solo HR , 2 rbi’s ) and Owen Peltier ( 2 runs , rbi ) all hit 2 for 4 in a losing cause . The Hounds have now moved into 2nd place 1 point behind the first place Sudbury North Stars . The Stars do have 3 games in hand .
                                               Action will resume on Monday night July the 7th in Azilda at the Rick McDonald Memorial Sports Complex . In the opener at 7 pm ,when the Garson Hounds clash with the Dog House . In the nightcap at 9pm , the Dog House complete their doubleheader and battle with the Panthers .
 
                                                Teams are reminded that we are just  16 days away from the deadline for the 5th Annual Brad Rienguette Memorial Fastball Tournament .All teams will receive their full team stats on Monday July the 7th in Azilda .
