Fearon and Gammie named Durham College student-athletes of the week

OSHAWA, Ont. – Thomas Fearon (Ajax, Ont.) and Katrina Gammie (Guelph, Ont..) have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa.

Fearon, a water treatment major, recorded the win on the mound in Durham’s 12-2 victory over the Humber Hawks. Making only his second conference start of the season, he limited Humber to just three hits and two runs over five innings of work. Fearon struck out eight Humber batters, silencing the bats of the second most efficient offence in the OCAA.

Gammie, a community services support worker major, was named an all-star at the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) national championship. In the Lords four games leading into the fifth place game, Gammie was 6-for-12 with four runs scored and three RBI.

Both the baseball and softball teams will be looking for gold this weekend as they take part in their respective OCAA Championships.
