Applications sought for Commissioner with Buffalo ASA/USA Softball

 

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball, a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization, is seeking applicants for the position of Commissioner for the Buffalo ASA/USA Softball association.

 

The ASA/USA Softball Commissioner is a volunteer position with ASA/USA Softball and should be an individual who is interested in serving as the principal liaison between the local Buffalo association and the ASA/USA National Office in Oklahoma City. A panel will interview and make their recommendation of a temporary commissioner to the ASA/USA Board of Directors for confirmation. After serving a minimum of six months and no later than the ASA/USA Annual Meeting in November, the Commissioner's Appointment Committee will review the performance of the commissioner and make a recommendation of interim or permanent status to the ASA Board of Directors.

 

The ASA was founded in 1933 and has evolved into the strongest softball organization in the country. The growth and development of the association led the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) to name the ASA as the National Governing Body of Softball, pursuant to the Amateur Sports Act of 1978.
