The Aussie Steelers will venture to New Zealand for games against the Blacksox and the Samoan national team on 12-13 December, forming the qualification round where the top two teams will qualify for the 14th Men’s World Championship to be played in Canada from 26 June-5 July 2015.
The Steelers will take a 17-man squad and look to be at near full strength with key players Adam Folkard, Andrew Kirkpatrick, Nicholas Norton and Joel Southam set to take their place.
Sky Sport NZ will televise the games live into New Zealand with the hope that the Australian games will be shown on Fox Sports nationwide in Australia. Further broadcast details will be made public as they come to hand.
While the Steelers are expecting to face a full-strength Blacksox team, Samoa remains an unknown quantity and will no doubt also provide stiff opposition.
Rosedale Park in Auckland will host the event, starting on Friday 12 December with the Steelers scheduled to play Samoa at 2pm local time, followed by an evening clash against New Zealand at 7.30pm.
Saturday’s action will see the Steelers play New Zealand at 12.30pm, Samoa at 3pm, hopefully followed by the final at 7.30pm.
