En horas del mediodía de este sábado falleció en Valencia, estado Carabobo, el presidente de la Federación Venezolana de Softbol, Jesús Suniaga.
 
El directivo, quien venía siendo tratado por cáncer, fue ingresado a un centro de salud en la capital carabobeña debido a un problema respiratorio.
 
Según las primeras informaciones recibidas, lo débil de su sistema inmunológico le provocó un paro respiratorio del que no pudo salir.
 
Jesús Suniaga asumió la presidencia de la Federación Venezolana de Softbol en 1987, año en que sucedió a Lucas Rodríguez.
