Cephas Roth Tournament - Tavistock June 18th to 21st - Event Update

March 16, 2015

Tavistock, ON

I'm sure that many of you have been curious as to where things are at for our upcoming Annual Cephas Roth Men's Fastball Tournament. Our silence has not been a sign of apathy, but rather we have been working diligently to assemble the largest and most competitive field of teams to date for this event !

We are excited at this time to release the 15 teams that will compete for the coveted crown in Tavistock in June, including the Australian National Team as they work their way through to Saskatoon for the 2015 ISF World Championships, the Defending ISC World Champion Hill United Chiefs and the 2014 ISC World Finalist Kitchener Hallman Twins.

Rounding out this field of World Class teams, we are thrilled to include the :
Scarborough Force
Toronto Gators
New York A1 Bombers
Kitchener Cubs
Shakespeare Falcons
Elmira Expos
Niagara Snappers
Kanata Storm
Toronto Batmen
Ponsonby Sting
Kingston Axemen
And last but not least, our home town Tavistock Merchants.

The format for this year's event will be Three Pools of Five teams with each team guaranteed Four games. Due to the larger number of teams this year, we will be using a 3rd local diamond close by for the round robin portion of the event.

The top 6 teams after preliminary play will advance to the playoff round to contend for the 2015 Cephas Roth title.

Beyond the diamond, we will again feature our mighty and dedicated troop of Tavistock Minor Ball volunteers on the gates, diamond crews, bbq and beverage tent. 50/50 draws and raffles will be available throughout the weekend and plans are well under way for our LIVE evening musical entertainment as well !! We will also again feature our "Stars of the Future" Minor Ball All Star Game on the Queens diamond on the Saturday afternoon. It promises to be BIGGER and BETTER in Tavistock this year than ever before.

Many great National team players will be participating with their club teams as a final tune up to the ISF World Tournament and the Pan American Games. Kicking off the festivities, we are also pleased to announce that the Pan American Torch Relay will make a stop at the Queens Park Diamond mid afternoon on June 18th.

If you haven't already marked this weekend on your calendar, now is your chance to do so. We expect this year's event to be one of the Premiere Invitational fastball events of the 2015 season. You won't want to miss it !!

Look for more updates on Al's Fastball web site as we move closer to the date and plan to spend June 18th to 21st in Tavistock Ontario.
