Passing of George Pearson

October 5, 2006

Long Beach, CA

Long Beach, CA

George Pearson passed away last week as a result of an ongoing illness. George was not only an outstanding softball pitcher but also a standout baseball player who was drafted out of high school by the Detroit Tigers. George pitched for the San Pedro Mary Star team of the 1950's and for the Long Beach Nitehawks during the 1950's and 60's. At one time he was one of only 5 softball players nationally who were invited to teach the art of fastball pitching overseas. He of course is a Hall of Fame member in the ISC.

He was buried at All Souls Mortuary in Long Beach, Calif. on 10/4. He
actually passed on 9/29.
