theswitchMONEYBALL2015 is open for nominations for both the Open Men's and Over 35 Masters Men.

 

There has been considerable interest from teams that attended the inaugural event in 2014 along with new teams to compete at Australia's high stakes men's fastpitch tournament hosted 25-27^th September 2015 at the Ipswich Softball Association, Queensland, Australia.

 

We would like to detail the goals for theswitchMONEYBALL 2015:

• Even larger prize money for the Open Men's competition

• Double the amount of juniors to be coached directly from our elite Aussie Steelers representatives

• Double the amount of Masters to be involved

 

We hang our hat on being a player oriented tournament in all aspects of tournament design and delivery and commit to responding to feedback from the inaugural 2014 theswitchMONEYBALL to strengthen our tournament

 

The Challenge:

• For 10 Open Men's teams from our region to enter so we can boost the first prize money to $10,000 cash!

• To ensure all nomination fees are received on time to avoid late fees

• To play the hardest ball around- day and night!

 

There has been no increase to the fee structure for the Open Men's competition and again we encourage teams to utilise the easy payment plan:

 

• Open Men’s

  • $1000 per team + $50 per pick-up

    • $400 by June 25 secures your team a position

    • Next $400 due July 25

    • Remainder due August 25 with final team list and permits

    • Additional $150 late fee for those nominations not paid in full by August 25

 

• Over 35 Masters Men's

  • $150 per team due August 25 with team lists

 

Though the focus is on fun in the Masters competition there will be a prize pool of $500.

FAQs:

• All players must be 16yo or older

• If you are an interstate team/participant- If currently registered in Australia, you will be required to obtain a written permit to participate in this tournament from your Home State Association (please contact your State Association). Additionally, a $5.50 per participant Softball Queensland Incorporated (SQI) Event Fee will be payable

• If you are from overseas- You will require a written permit to participate from your Home Association. Additionally, a $22.00 SQI event fee per participant will be payable

• If you are an unregistered participant- A $22.00 per person SQI Event Fee will be payable

• If you are a pick-up player/participant- The above SQI Event Fees apply. Additionally, there is a $50 per player fee to be incorporated in theswitchMONEYBALL Nomination fee for the first three pick-ups (NB: Unlimited Pick-Ups allowed)

• Additional to the above fees all players, coaches, umpires and scorers must pay the Softball Australia On Diamond Fee of $5.50. Managers are not required to pay this fee

• All participants must be available to participate till 5pm on SundaySeptember 27.
