Monkton 08 - the countdown is on!!!!

The official countdown to the first pitch of the World Fastball Invitational is on, as our massive Bud-Light
beer tent was erected last night, as well as the usual army of volunteers scurrying about in preparations for the "greatest weekend in fastball".
 
Mother Nature has been quite unpredictable the past couple weeks, as sunshine one minute is followed by rain and thunderstorms the next - and has been relatively cool for this time of year. As a result, the diamond and outfield are in "perfect" shape - the grass is full and lush, and the ground not too hard for those outfield hops. 
 
The town is abuzz as usual this close to the event, and final preparations will be in full swing today and tomorrow in anticipation of the thousands of fans we will host during the next 4 days. Promotion and advertising via our affiliates with CKNX, The Bull, and FM101.7 has certainly created more excitement than usual with their on-air interviews, commercials, and ticket give-aways over the last few weeks.  As you all know, AM 920 CKNX will once again broadcast the opening games Thurs, as well as the FINAL on Sunday at 2PM - click on  am920.ca to catch all the action live!!!
